I don’t know about you, but each Thanksgiving, my family and I end up crunching our way through sticks and leaves near sundown. Usually this gentle hike occurs an hour or two after we’ve concluded the first round of gravy-drenched gluttony. Going hiking can actually speed up the amount of time it takes for all that comfort food to make the journey from your stomach to your small intestine. The trick to a proper digestive hike is choosing a trail that’s easy enough to allow your body to focus on what’s inside and scenic enough to distract you from the realization that you just ate more turkey in one sitting than you’ll probably consume for the rest of the year.
