Also, I love the picture of the fire hydrant spraying that car, which I hope had its windows open and got flooded…it was parked in the bike lane.

Thanks Andrea! Funny enough, I just finished a project that included a spotlight on some of the canyons around SLC, which I visited long before this map was created. There's a modern tradition of citizens taking it upon themselves to create mapping resources that municipal officials sometimes adopt for their own use. The current map of Pittsburgh's staircases was made possible by DIY maps created in a similar fashion by Bob Regan.
